Female real estate agents asked to check for unwanted texts
PETERBOROUGH — Female real estate agents are being asked to check their communication records for inappropriate and unwanted texts and phone calls.
The OPP’s Peterborough County Crime Unit is investigating after police received numerous complaints from female real estate agents of inappropriate and unwanted text messages and phone calls over the past three months.
On May 2, 2018, detectives went to Toronto area address and arrested a male resident.
Mario Nelson Diniz, 54, of Toronto, is charged with seven counts of Harassing Communications and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
He was held for a bail hearing scheduled for May 3.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance and request that anyone who has received unwanted harassing messages from a number beginning with 647-284-XXXX to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 705-742-0401or toll free: 1-888-310-1122.
