Clement says being an MP ‘is a death trap’
OTTAWA — A tearful Tony Clement said the job of being an MP is “a death trap.”
He was responding to reporters’ questions Wednesday morning after fellow Tory MP Gordon Brown was found dead in his Parliament office today.
Clement, said he had known Brown since 1981.
The Parry Sound-Muskoka MP said being a member of Parliament is “a death trap.”
“It takes years off your life.
“Sorry, I can’t contain myself,” he said battling back tears.
He called Brown, a career Tory backbencher, an “excellent” MP.
“It’s a loss for the world. … I’ll miss him every day.”
