5 charged in Gravenhurst with drug, property crimes

GRAVENHURST — Five Gravenhurst residents face a total of 15 drug and property-related charges following a police bust Thursday.

Four of the accused were released to appear in court May 1. The fifth, Wayne Bruce Decaire was held for a bail hearing Friday.

Provincial police say that on April 5, 2018, the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at an address in the Town of Gravenhurst.

As a result of this investigation, police have charged multiple parties with multiple offences.

Police recovered a quantity of cocaine, cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin (hash), psilocybin (magic mushrooms), oxycodone, methylphenidate and stolen property.

As a result of this investigation the following people have been charged:

Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the  Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Resin over 1 gram – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the  Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Hydrocondone – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the  Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule III Substance – Psilocybin- Contrary to Section 4(1) of the  Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule III Substance – Methylphenidate- Contrary to Section 4(1) of the  Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Decaire was held for bail Friday, April 6, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

All other accused were released on Appearance Notices to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 1.
