Midland OPP to open new office

MIDLAND Policing here has a new face, new presence, new officers — and finally a newer detachment.

The renovated satellite office opens Monday, March 12 at 8 a.m.

On Monday, March 12, following the recent transition from town to provincial poling, at 8 a.m. the satellite office to the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the OPP, located at 250 Second Street in the Town of Midland, will be open to the public and will be fully operational.

The location has under gone some major renovations during the last four weeks to help better serve the citizens of the Town of Midland and the officers that will work out of that office.

“As the Detachment Commander, I welcome the return of the civilian and uniform members of the former Midland Police Service that have recently joined the OPP who alongside other Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment members will be providing a professional service to the citizens and businesses of Midland,” Insp. Andrew Ferguson, of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment.

“I also thank the community for their patience while the renovations were under way and apologize for any inconveniences that may have been caused.”
