Police look for man after woman flagged down by driver, assaulted

SEVERN TOWNSHIP — Provincial police are looking for male in his 20s after a woman was flagged down by a driver and assaulted.
Police say that On Sunday January 7, 2018 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault on Brodie Drive, Severn Township.
At approximately 3:15 pm, a female was driving northbound on Brodie Drive when she was flagged down by a male, standing near a parked car, who appeared to be in need of assistance. The female stopped and exited her vehicle at which time she was assaulted by the unknown male who fled the scene southbound on Brodie Drive.
The Orillia OPP Crime Unit, Orillia detachment Scenes of Crime Officers and the Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) were called in to assist with the investigation.
The male suspect is described as:
Caucasian male
Mid to late 20’s
Medium build
Wearing a black jacket, black toque, black work boots, blue jeans and black gloves
The suspect vehicle is described as:
Newer Ford, mid-sized, 4 door sedan
Bright red in colour with silver coloured hub caps
The OPP’s Forensic Artist was called in to compose a composite sketch of the suspect. The drawing is being released to the public in hopes someone may recognize the male. Police are still looking for both the male and vehicle involved in this incident.
