RVH BOARD CHAIRED BY CHARLOTTE WALLIS NOW
BARRIE — Central Ontario’s leading health-care centre is under some new management.
Barrie’s behemoth hospital — RVH — whiich continues its massive expansion, has named Charlotte Wallis new chair through 2021.
At its June AGM, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s board voted her in.
Wallis joined the board five years ago and has just retired as regional vice president at RBC Royal Bank.
“Charlotte brings a diverse background of leadership, knowledge and community experience to this role,” says Janice Skot, RVH president and CEO.
“She has been an active member on our board for many years, her guidance and immense knowledge in governance and healthcare issues will be vital to the board moving forward.”
Wallis replaces Michael O’Keefe, who led the board since 2017. He will continue as past chair.
Doug Frost was elected as the board’s first vice-chair; and Michael Gleason was elected second vice-chair.
Karen Hansen was also welcomed as a new member of the board.
Meanwhile, effective in September, Dr. David Boushy will become president of the RVH medical staff association, and Dr. Marco Vennettilli will be vice president.
The RVH Foundation board also saw a change in leadership.
Doug Moody takes the chair from John Byles, who will remain as past chair. Moody previously served as vice chair.
Paul Larche was elected as vice chair of the foundation board; and new members Estelle King and Kelly Whitaker join it.
