POLICE IN GRAVENHURST CHARGE TWO WITH B&Es AT MUSKOKA CENTRE; AND ANOTHER MAN WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

GRAVENHURST — Trespassers at the former Muskoka Centre health facility aren’t uncommon.
But to be charged with possession of stolen property is unusual. Police didn’t say what was stolen.
Police charged two people yesterday in relation to a break and enter in Gravenhurst.
Last night, Tuesday, April 28, at 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a report from a member of the public that people were trespassing on the former Muskoka Centre property located at the end of Muskoka Road North in Gravenhurst.
This property is fenced and there are several ‘No Trespassing’ signs posted.
Furthermore, say the OPP, the buildings that are still standing on the property that is not considered safe to enter.
The site also once housed OPP K-9 officers and their training dogs.
Officers attended and searched the property and a located a nearby involved vehicle.
After investigating, they arrested and charged 58-year-old William Bridgman of Vaughan, ON with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of Break In Instruments
- Break, Enter a place with intent to commit indictable offence
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
Also charged was 38-year-old Dale McRea, of Haliburton, with:
- Break, Enter a place with intent to commit indictable offence
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of Break In Instruments.
The two accused are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 21.
Ed. note: Meanwhile there has been no word regarding a potential sale, purchase and redevelopment of the property.

Commercial vehicle driver charged with impaired
GRAVENHURST — On Monday, April 27, at 6:45 a.m., officers were alerted by a member of the public to a possibly impaired driver who was operating a large commercial vehicle in Gravenhurst. Upon locating the vehicle on Muskoka Road North, they charged 54-year-old Kenneth Jobin, of Bracebridge, with Impaired Operation – Over 80.
Jobin is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on June 2, 2026.
