MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED ALSO CHARGED WITH SLASHING TIRES

GRAVENHURST — A Toronto man charged with impaired driving after reports of a suspicious vehicle circling downtown Gravenhurst a week ago, has also been charged with nine counts of slashing tires in a parking lot next to the downtown community policing office here at the same time.

A Toronto man faces 10 charges after a tire-slashing last week in downtown Gravenhurst.

Provincial police say that on May 17, at 2:20 a.m. officers were dispatched to a mischief to nine vehicles located in a parking lot at the corner of Muskoka Road and Brock Street in Gravenhurst.

It was reported that tires on the vehicles had been slashed causing them to deflate.

Police say they had been called to that same area earlier — shortly after midnight — after a fight broke out involving multiple patrons from a nearby bar and several were refused re-entry to the establishment.

Then, shortly before 2:24 a.m. a member of the public became concerned about a vehicle that was circling the area downtown in Gravenhurst and called police.

Officers located the vehicle on Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst and as a result of their investigation arrested and charged 45 year-old Jody Farmer with Operation while Impaired CC 320.14(1)(b).

Police have now charged him with nine (9) counts of Mischief Under $5000 CC 430(4).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 4, 2019 to answer all the charges.

The investigation is ongoing and police would like to speak with anyone that was present that night or has information to offer.
