HUNTSVILLE WOMAN CHARGED EARLY THIS MORNING WITH ROBBERY ON ATHERLEY ROAD IN ORILLIA

ORILLIA A Huntsville woman was in bail court here today facing early morning robbery charges.

Police there say that on February 21, at 1:20 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call about an unwanted woman at a business on Atherley Road, in Orillia.

When officers responded, the employee said a customer alleged they would use a weapon against them if they did not provide alcohol or cigarettes.

Police quickly located the suspect, who they say resisted arrest.

She was taken to the Orillia OPP detachment, where police say she repeatedly made comments about killing officers involved.

No weapons were located on the suspect or used during the offence.

However, as a result of the investigation, Laura Nimmons, 41, faces multiple charges including:

  • Robbery with Violence (CC),
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property (CC),
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or bodily harm x2 (CC), and
  • Resist Peace Officer (CC)

Nimmons was held for a bail hearing Saturday before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
