ONSTAR ALERTS OPP TO HIGHWAY ROLLOVER YESTERDAY MORNING AND 21-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

HUNTSVILLE This week’s wintry blast yesterday led police to an early morning highway rollover on Hwy. 11.

The OPP were notified Wednesday, January 21, at 7:15a.m., by a ONSTAR satellite alert after a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 northbound near Stephenson Rd. between Bracebridge and Huntsville.

Reports were the vehicle was on its roof.

Officer attended with the assistance of Muskoka EMS.

The driver was uninjured, however police suspected the driver was impaired.

As a result of the investigation, Shaquille Antoine, 26, of North York, faces multiple charges including with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance (cocaine) – trafficking x 2
  • Failing to comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Drive motor vehicle with cannabis available

Antoine was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario.

He was also issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

A North York man was arrested with muliple charges Wednesday morning after walking away from a rollover on Hwy. 11 near Stephenson Road 12.
