GRAVENHURST — A Ramara Township resident faces three charges following an Aug. 5 accident last summer in west Gravenhurst that claimed two Muskoka men.

Police laid the charges today against Robyn Tonello, 35.

He will be in bail court Wednesday.

At 6:45 p.m. that early Tuesday evening, OPP officers along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to 911 calls from members of the public about a two-vehicle collision on Muskoka Road 169, near the Narrows Road.

The collision claimed two lives, that of a 50-year-old Gravenhurst man and a 61-year-old Muskoka Lakes Township man.

Police said in a release late this afternoon that investigations of this nature are complex and time consuming. And on January 12 police arrested and charged Tonello with:

  • Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death X 2
  • Operation while Impaired- Over 80.

Tonello is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 14, 2026, for a bail hearing.
