BRACEBRIDGE — A four-goal comeback and great goaltending gave Muskoka a solid seventh win tonight in hosting Innisfil.

The Bears bounced back to take the rubber match in just the teams’ third game this season with a welcome 4-2 victory before 203 of their fans who enjoyed the rare opportunity cheer a home ice win.

And gave Muskoka a three-point standings lead over Innisfil 16 to 13.

Both teams played decent, as usual fast back and forth hockey the first period with only one visiting goal.

Adam Enwright opened the scoring late in the first for the Spartans at 16:45 beating Joseph Degan inside the post.

Then the Bears responded with two each the next two frames.

At 5:26 of the second Isacc Oakes tied it from  Emmitt Robillard and Tyler Lasitz on a beautiful tic, tac, toe goal that went around back of the net and out front to high in the slot that easily beat Luke Rockbrune.

At 11:08 on the power play Robillard made it 2-1 Muskoka from Sam Litt and William Muszynski

Then just 39 seconds into the third Sam Litt lifted the Bears to a two-goal lead from Kevin Demeules and Liam Cardiff.

And at 5:51 William Muszynski — assisted by Liam Cardiff and Sam Carruthers — scored Muskoka’s fourth of the night.

The Spartans mounted a brief comeback at 11:57 when Richard Liversage got one back in what ended up a futile attempt to get close to tying the game.

Degan was up the challenge all game winning the goaltender’s battle with the net result a win for him as both he and Rockbrune faced 42 shots.

He made great, critical poke check on an inside Spartan in front of his crease among many shots he faced stopping a number of them head-high with his shoulders.

Rockbrune would like to have had a couple of goals back that he appeared to stop in close and one he gave up on a bad clearing attempt. (He is the son of former Barrie Cold Joe Rockbrune who ran the successful Hockey Night in Muskoka fundraiser here this summer.)

It was chippy game with the Bears off six times including for roughing and unsportsmanlike penalties to leading scorer Demeules and a head contact penalty to Mason Taylor-Wood.

The Spartans had five penalties that included roughing and boarding.

The Bears stay home to face the Penetang Kings Saturday night at 7 p.m.
