GRAVENHURST — A 17-year-old Bracebridge youth has admitted to causing damage at two sports fields here a week ago Monday.
Police would like to thank members of the public for their support and for sharing information after yesterday the OPP released photos of the vehicle involved in driving across school grounds Monday, Nov. 24.
As a result, today, Dec. 2, the driver, a 17-year-old Bracebridge teen, came forward and took responsibility for the mischief caused to the Gravenhurst High School and Muskoka Beechgrove schools.
Police tell MuskokaTODAY.com they “will be utilizing extra judicial measures, under the Youth Criminal Justice Act for this one, and their identity is being withheld under provisions of the YCJA.”
The admission follows an investigation into a damage at two separate school properties.
Just before 7 p.m., officers responded to a report from school staff at Muskoka Beechgrove Public School on Muskoka Beach Road that a vehicle was driving on their playground, doing doughnuts and causing damage to the grass.
Last Tuesday damage at GHS was reported that had occurred the evening before.
