DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED, FAIL TO REMAIN AFTER MULTIPLE VEHICLES HIT ON SOUTHWOOD ROAD GRAVENHURST LAST NIGHT

GRAVENHURST — “Fortunately there were no injuries.”

Police charged a Gravenhurst man last night after multiple collisions were reported on Southwood Road in Gravenhurst.

On August 13, at 10:20 p.m., officers responded to reports of several collisions.

At least one of the the hit vehicles was moving, reports Const. Sam Bigley.

They say that after striking several vehicles, the suspect vehicle did not stop and continued driving.

Fortunately there were no reported injuries, Bigley said this morning.

Officers located the vehicle on Southwood Road near Muskoka Road 169 arresting and charging 43-year-old Ryan Steele with Operation while Impaired by Drug, Dangerous Operation and Fail to Remain.

Steele is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 30, 2025, to answer to his charges.

Police say Steele’s vehicle strcuk multiple other vehicles, before fleeing. There were no injuries.
