TWO CHARGED WITH THEFT AND PASSING COUNTERFEIT CASH IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS IN GRAVENHURST
GRAVENHURST — A Canadian Tire bike theft yesterday and a week of passing counterfeit money has led to arrests and charges against two Gravenhurst residents in separate police investigations.
On Sunday July 13, just before 1 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft from a retail location on Talisman Drive.
A man entered the store and made off with a fat-tire bike along with other items.
Police located the suspect charging Christopher Lamorie, 45, of Gravenhurst with Theft Under $5,000.
Lamorie is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 25, 2025.
Counterfeit cash investigation
And between Monday June 30 and Tuesday July 8, the OPP received several reports that a person was passing counterfeit money at several locations in Gravenhurst.
With the assistance of the public, police were able to identify the suspect and arresting and charging Amee Paulette, 40, of Gravenhurst with Utter Counterfeit Money X 5 and Fraud Under $5000 X 3.
Paulette is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 12, 2025.
