CFUW FUNDRAISERS IN JUNE INCLUDE DINNER DONATIONS, ‘AUTHORS NIGHT’ JUNE 27 WITH LINWOOD BARCLAY
GRAVENHURST — CFUW Muskoka has two fundraisers in June to raise money to provide bursaries for local students at the four high schools in Muskoka and at Georgian College.
A month-long “event” is the Feed the Mind initiative in which four restaurants — two in Bracebridge, one in Gravenhurst and one in Huntsville — will donate a portion of the proceeds from sale of a specific menu item during the month of June to Canadian Federation of University Women’s Muskoka Charitable Trust Bursary Fund.
Visit Westside Fish & Chips or the Barrel House in Huntsville, South Muskoka Curling & Golf Club in Bracebridge and the Frosty Pint in Gravenhurst.
The other event is an Author’s Night June 27 at the Gravenhurst Opera House with Canadian author Linwood Barclay who will be talking about his new novel Whistle.
CFUW has approximately 90 chapters across Canada that are involved in various activities focused on advocating and promoting women’s equality, education, and social justice, according to organizers Terri Paul and Evelyn Archibald.
