GRAVENHURST — A change of time this Sunday night has a special combined concert with the Gravenhurst Bifocals Concert Band and the GHS Senior Band performing at 7 p.m. at Trinity United Church.
That’s a band of more than 40 brass, woodwind and percussion players.
A scheduling error moved the concert back from 2 p.m.
So their Musical Pastiche presentation May 25 will be later and greater as the young and old musicians combine forces and perform separately.
“We are excited to welcome our special guests, the talented GHS Senior Band Class,” says a Bifocals release Wednesday.
Under the direction of Gravenhurst High School music teacher Dan Farmer: “These students are keen and have plenty of great musical energy.”
With music from Grieg, Prokofieff and John Williams, to Carole King, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond and the Beatles, there is sure to be something for every age group.
Bifocals conductor Kim Barlow says there may be light saber involved.
On the program — with conductor Kim Barlow’s first downbeat at 7 p.m. — will be:
1:10 O Canada
2:10 Billboard March
2:10 Solvieg’s Song
3:00 La Cumparsita
8:10 Flower Drum Song
7:00 Billy Joel in Concert
GHS Sr. Band plays:
1:10 Bella Ciao
2:10 Let’s Groove
2:40 Feel It Still
Intermission
Bifocals play:
6:30 Star Wars’s Saga
6:00 Best of Carole King
5:20 Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

Suggested donation is $20 for adults 18 and up and $10 for students (children 12 and under are free).
