DRIVER, PASSENGER PULLED FROM VEHICLE AFTER IT HIT TREE, ROLLED OVER IN BRACEBRIDGE

BRACEBRIDGE — A driver who landed his car on its roof after hitting a tree has been charged with dangerous and impaired operation after an accident here Thursday night.

Police called the accident on Manitoba Street a “dangerous situation.”

On April 3, just before 11 p.m, emergency service responded to 911 calls about a single-vehicle-collision.

The vehicle was reportedly seen swerving on the road and left the roadway, collided with a tree, and landed on its roof.

Emergency crews assisted in extricating the occupants and the female passenger was transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

And the driver was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police charged Shane Webb, 41, of Bracebridge, with Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm CC 320.13(2), Operation While Impaired Causing Bodily Harm CC 320.14(2) and Failure or Refusal To Comply with Demand-Bodily Harm CC 320.15(2).

Webb is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on May 13, 2025.

The driver, with a female passenger, left the road, hit a tree and rolled over late Thursday night this week.
