SENIOR DEFRAUDED BY MAN POSING AS BANK EMPLOYEE

HUNTSVILLE — A senior defrauded Tuesday by a man pretending to be a bank employee has police asking the public to help identify the suspect.

Police are looking for a male suspect who bilked a senior while posing as a bank employee in Huntsville Tuesday.

Provincial police say that on March 26, a male suspect called the elderly victim and pretended to be an employee of a bank.

The suspect had the victim go to the bank and withdraw money before returning home with the cash in hand.

The suspect, dressed in black and white, with a brown tie, then attended the victim’s residence and took the money.

Police are asking anyone with information as to the identity of this suspect to contact the Huntsville OPP.

The public is reminded to be aware of phone and internet scams which continue to pose as a concern. If you receive suspicious phone calls and or emails asking for your personal banking information and or requesting you to transfer money, contact your financial institution directly to validate the request before making any transactions.

The suspect went to the seniors home after the victim took money out of the bank and gave it to the con artist.
An older male, dressed all in black, who went to the victim’s apartment is being sought in the fraud investigation.
