TLDSB CLOSES MUSKOKA SCHOOLS MONDAY DUE TO SNOW; AND NO ONLINE LEARNING
MUSKOKA — Friday’s first snowfall, which meant a cancellation of buses, has now led to the full closure of all Muskoka Trillium Lakelands District School Board schools.
In an email notice to parents and guardians Sunday, they said: “We hope that you are well and were able to stay safe during the extreme winter storm this past weekend that affected Muskoka and other central regions of Ontario.”
So, due to the unprecedented snowfall causing many road closures and undrivable areas, TLDSB has made the decision to close all Muskoka schools for Monday, Dec. 2.
Therefore, there will be no buses tomorrow and child care centres in TLDSB schools will also be closed.
Please note, schools will not be moving to online learning.
This comes as the OPP asked motorists to stay off the roads, which will allow road crews to clean the affected areas.
As a result, the following schools are included in the closure:
Elementary schools:
- Bracebridge Public School
- Glen Orchard Public School
- Gravenhurst Public School
- Honey Harbour Public School
- Huntsville Public School
- Irwin Memorial Public School
- K.P. Manson Public School
- Macaulay Public School
- Monck Public School
- Muskoka Beechgrove Public School
- Muskoka Falls Public School
- Pine Glen Public School
- Riverside Public School
- Spruce Glen Public School
- V. K. Greer Memorial Public School
- Watt Public School
As well, these secondary schools and Adult and Alternative Education centres (AAEC) will also not open: - Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary Schools + AAEC
- Gravenhurst High School + AAEC
- Huntsville High School + AAEC
In addition, the board office in Bracebridge at the Muskoka Education Centre will be closed.
