‘SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE’ REPORT

LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES

PORT SYDNEY On Wednesday police charged a driver with impaired operation following a complaint of a “suspicious vehicle.”

On Oct. 2, at noon, the OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Muskoka Road 10 in Port Sydney.

Officers attended and after an investigation determined the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.

Mark Lovegrove, 37, of Huntsville, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released from custody to appear in court at a later date.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.

A pair of serious 911 calls last week in Huntsville prompted police to make a pair of arrests.
