POLICE FIND WOMAN IN LICENSED ESTABLISHMENT WHO FLED ACCIDENT, CHARGE HER WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

MUSKOKA LAKES TWP. — A Bracebridge woman who fled a west Muskoka collision last night has been charged with impaired driving after being found at a licensed establishment.

Police responded to reports of an accident Sunday at 8:50 p.m., on Muskoka Road 169  near Hamill Point Road, after a single vehicle left the roadway and landed down a deep embankment.

That’s between Foot’s Bay and Glen Orchard near the Bass Lake Road House.

Members of the public tried to assist as the driver who fled the scene. Police located her at a nearby licensed establishment.

Police have arrested and charged 40-year-old Crystal Fevreau, of Bracebridge, with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

Fevreau is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 27, 2024, to answer to her charges.

Drivers who are charged with impaired driving offences also receive an immediate 90-day drivers license suspension and have their vehicle impounded.

Police say the accidents occurred just before 9 p.m. on Hwy. 169 near Hammill Road between Foot’s Bay and Glen Orchard.
