10-week-old infant dies after 911 call Thursday

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES — The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate the death of a 10-week-old child.

Emergency services personnel, including the OPP responded to a call Thursday, January 25 about 6:35 pm to a call for assistance in Oakwood.

The male infant was found not breathing and transported to hospital.

He was later transferred to a Toronto area hospital and subsequently pronounced deceased.

Police are investigating under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Randy Gaynor of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
