GRAVENHURST MAN AMONG THREE FACING DOZENS OF CHARGES IN $300,000 DRUG SEIZURE
MUSKOKA — A Gravenhurst man is among three people charged after winter drug investigation that led to $300,000 in street drugs being confiscated in drug raids Wednesday and Thursday.
In early 2024 the OPP’s Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) conducted an investigation into drug trafficking through-out the District of Muskoka.
On March 20 and 21, with the assistance of the Central Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit and the south Muskoka detachment, officers and investigators executed five search warrants, two in Bracebridge and three in Toronto.
The led to the seizure of a quantity of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, various prescription medications, a large quantity of cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia. They say the estimated street value of the drugs seized is in excess of $300,000.

The three accused were arrested and charged with the following offences:
Daniel Shemar Johnson, 24, of Toronto:

– Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x3
– Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2

– Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2
– Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, CC 354(1)(a) x2
Abria Atkinson, 23, of Toronto:
– Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2
– Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2
– Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2)
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2
– Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2
– Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, CC 354(1)(a)
Jerrett Dirk, 43, of Gravenhurst:
– Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2)
– Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2)
– Fail to Comply with Release Order, CC 145(5)(a)
Johnson was held in custody for a bail hearing March 2024 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge and subsequently released to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario on April 23, 2024.
Atkinson and Dirk too were released from custody to attend the same Ontario Court of Justice date in Bracebridge on April 23, 2024.
