‘A MUSKOKA CHRISTMAS’ CONCERT BY MCB ONE YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THIS SATURDAY OR MONDAY

GRAVENHURST/HUNTSVILLE — Will you hear what I hear?
There’s a lot of great Christmas music and concerts this month.
And while you can’t get out to all of them, one (or two) you’ll want to catch is by the Muskoka Concert Band — with a special narrated piece by actor Pru Donaldson with a lively humorous reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Always a seasonal crowd favourite — including lively sing-along numbers — their annual performance of ‘A Muskoka Christmas’ begins this Saturday.
- First at the Trinity United Church Dec. 16 in Gravenhurst at 2 p.m.
- Then Monday night at Trinity United Church Huntsville Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 (cash) at the door, or can be bought online at muskokaconcertband.ca (with credit card). Children 12 and under get to listen and learn to love music for free.
The same concert, the same great musicians and the same opportunity to sing the amazing old Christmas carols and hymn that can’t be beat today.
And ones you will know and be able to sing and shout with joy backed by more than two dozen wind and brass instruments.
Among them is “Hanukkah Highlights” to help start the Jewish season of celebration.
The concerts will take a holiday trip to Muskoka through music of the season.
The start out on a beautiful journey with Robert Sheldon’s “Incandescent Sky” and then deck some cheery halls with “Fa La La and All That” by Ross Hastings.
The audience will help them to write a letter to Santa on “The Typewriter” before taking a “Midnight Sleighride.”
Other holiday classics include the popular songs in medleys like “A Christmas Rhapsody” and “Home for Christmas.”
And of course what Christmas concert would be complete without an audience sing-along to some of our favourites?
Join them once or twice. Both are worth the drive.
