POLICE GET HELP FROM BAR STAFF, PUBLIC IN CHARGING MAN WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

GRAVENHURST A man accused of impaired driving was up against more than the law early Friday morning.

Police say he was charged after staff and members of the public had to intervene.

On October 21, at 2:45 a.m., officers were called out after employees of a local licensed establishment in Gravenhurst became concerned about a driver’s ability to safely operate his vehicle.

After an investigation, police arrested and charged 32-year-old Tyler McKay, of North Bay, with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

McKay is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge November 14, 2023.

Police say they credit the quick actions of employees as well as participation and information from other patrons of the establishment with making area roads safer.

A North Bay man, 32, is to appear in court Nov. 14 on a two impaired dirivng charges after being arrested Friday night in Gravenhurst.
