GRAVENHURST TAXI OWNER CHARGED WITH ALLEGED SEX ASSAULT IN CAB IN LATE JULY

GRAVENHURST — A cab company owner here faces a charge of sexual assault after an alleged incident in one of his taxis in late July.

Police say Mark Sethi, 57, who operates Gravenhurst Taxi, was arrested on Aug. 10, 2023.

Officers along with members of the Muskoka Crime Unit have charged the Gravenhurst resident with sexual assault.

They say that in early August south Muskoka OPP received information reporting a sexual assault had occurred in a taxi near a commercial area in Gravenhurst on July 28, 2023.

Police say an occupant of the taxi is alleged to have been sexually assaulted by the driver.

As a result of the joint police investigation the driver was arrested and charged.

Sethi is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on September 19, 2023, to answer to the charge.
