ALL ‘VALKOMMEN’ TO SWEDETOWN HISTORIC UNVEILING WEDNESDAY, AT 2 P.M., IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST — Municipal Heritage Committee members are looking for a window of opportunity Wednesday.

After taking a rain check on the unveiling of the Swedetown interpretive panel on Phillip Street, the new date this Wednesday is looking iffy.

On Thanksgiving Monday the forecast was calling for a 40 per cent chance of showers.

But, as we all know, that’s no guarantee.

So at 2 p.m. it should be a go.

On Sept. 21 the weather was looking favourable until the final hour when the event was regretfully rescheduled.

But just in case, bring a brollie and hope precipitation is intermittent at best and a drizzle at best.

Luckily there’s no call for snow.

Never fear, Swedes and other related Scandanavian descendants are a harty bunch so the show is destined to go on with Gravenhurst Archives chair Judy Humphries to give brief presentation on the history of the mid-town neighbourhood a block west off Bethune Drive next to the tennis courts at Gull Lake Rotary Park.

All välkommen.
