RICHTER ON A ROLL, GREEN CANDIDATE TO APPEAR ON POWER & POLITICS ON EVE OF ELECTION

HUNTSVILLVE — Parry Sound-Muskoka is now one of the ridings to watch in tomorrow’s Ontario election.

Various provincial polls — public, private and party — have the incumbent Progressive Conservatives in close race with the surging Greens.

Last week’s advance polls show a 10 per cent voter turnout, say the Greens, who say that’s double 2018.

The significance that Tory Graydon Smith could be upset by Matt Richter is not lost on political observers.

On the eve of the election the Green candidate is taking part in a panel this afternoon on CBC’s Power & Politics hosted by Vassy Kapelos.

He will be appearing from Huntsville.

The 5 p.m. ET program will give Richter a last chance to state his case — and that of his party.

Both the Richter and Smith teams were working the south-end riding of Muskoka today around Gravenhurst.

Vassy Kapelos spoke this afternoon with candidates in tomorrow’s election, including Matt Richter bottom right.

Tomorrow’s election day June 1

has seven candidates on the ballot:

  1. PC Party of Ontario: Graydon Smith
  2. Ontario NDP: Erin Horvath
  3. Green Party of Ontario: Matt Richter
  4. Ontario Party: Andrew John Cocks
  5. New Blue: Doug Maynard
  6. Independent: Daniel Predie Jr.
  7. Populist Party of Ontario: Brad Waddell
The Greens hope to make a splash tomorrow. Many are calling the provincial election too close to call. Various polls have the Greens and Tories leading in Parry Sound-Muskoka.
