WOMAN, 2 MEN WHO FACE DRUG, GUN CHARGES HELD IN JAIL AFTER SEARCH WARRANT IN HUNTSVILLE

HUNTSVILLE A woman released by police on drug and weapons charges Tuesday was arrested again yesterday charged with possessing a stolen rifle and shotgun.

Kayle MacLeod, 31, of Armour Township, and two other men were held over in bail court Thursday after facing gun and drug charges Wednesday.

They will be back in court again Friday and Monday.

OPP in Huntsville arrested and charged them after a search warrant was executed Jan. 27 by Huntsville detachment officers and members of the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

They say in a release today that as a result of the investigation, the following weapons were seized:

–      Remington .22 rifle

–      Mass Arms 12 gauge shotgun.

–      24 rounds of 12 gauge shotgun shells

–      16 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition.

–      black flip knife

Police seized this 12 gauge shotgun and .22 rifle, ammunition and knife while executing a search warrant yesterday in Huntsville. Three people face weapons and drug charges as a result.

In addition to the seizure, the three people have been charged.

Brandon Condrey, 29, of Hamilton:

  • Did have in his possession a firearm and ammunition while he was prohibited from doing so by reason of an order made pursuant to section 110 of the Criminal Code contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Did possess a firearm, to wit a firearm without being a holder of a licence contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Did offer to transfer a firearms, to wit a rife and a shotgun knowing that he was not authorized to do so, contrary to Section 99 of the Criminal Code.
  • Did have in his possession firearms to wit a rifle and a shotgun or knowing that it was obtained by the commission in Canada of an offence contrary to Section 96(a) of the Criminal Code.

–      Did possess a firearm, to wit a rifle and a shotgun knowing that he was not a holder of a licence contrary to Section 92(1) of the Criminal Code.

Condrey was further charged with:

  • Did, while being bound by a probation order, fail without reasonable excuse to comply with such order, to wit possess a firearm and ammunition contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Did, being at large on an undertaking, fail to comply with a condition of that undertaking, to wit possess weapons and ammunition contrary to Section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Did, being at large on an undertaking, fail to comply with a condition of that undertaking, to wit possess weapons and ammunition contrary to Section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Jason Gauvin, 32, of Huntsville:

  • Did possess a firearm, to wit a rifle and a shotgun without being a holder of a licence contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Did have in his possession firearms to wit a rifle and a shotgun or knowing that it was obtained by the commission in Canada of an offence contrary to Section 96(a) of the Criminal Code

Kayle MacLeod, 31, of Armour Township:

  • Did possess a firearms, to wit a rifle and a shotgun without being the holder of a licence contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Did have in his possession forearms to wit a rifle and a shotgun or knowing that it was obtained by the commission in Canada of an offence contrary to Section 96(a) of the Criminal Code.

MacLeod was further charged with:

  • Did, being at large on an undertaking, fail to comply with conditions of that undertaking, to wit: possess firearms and ammunition contrary to Section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The three accused parties were held for a bail hearing Jan. 27, 2022, and remanded into custody.

Condrey is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka Court, January 31, 2022.

Gauvin is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka Court, January 28, 2022.

MacLeod is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka Court, January 28, 2022.

This follows after police arrested MacLeod and another man Tuesday with criminal code violations.

Police say that on Jan. 25 officers observed Christopher Turek, 32, of Ajax, riding as a passenger in vehicle travelling on Lorne Street in Huntsville.

Police were aware Turek had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in his name and a traffic stop was conducted.

He was arrested and was found to have on him 1.69 grams of cocaine and 0.56 grams of fentanyl.

Police also found in the vehicle 1.95 grams of crack cocaine and two flip knives.

The driver, Kayle MacLeod, was arrested and the following was found on her person: 4 grams of methamphetamine and 2 grams of fentanyl.

Further investigation showed that Turek was bound by conditions contained in two release orders related to previous and unrelated criminal charges and a firearms prohibition.

The investigation resulted in police seizing the following:

–      2.6 g of fentanyl

–      1.95 g of crack cocaine

–      1.69 g of cocaine

–      4 g of methamphetamine

–      $80 in cash

–      2 flip knives (prohibited weapon)

As a result, Turek was charged with:

  • Did have in his possession a prohibited weapon, to wit: Knife, contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code.
  • Four counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purposes of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Did have in his possession proceeds of property, cash, of a value not exceeding five thousand dollars, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Fail to comply with conditions of release order to wit: Do not possess or consume any unlawful drugs or substances, contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Fail to comply with conditions of release order other to wit: Do not possess any weapon(s) as defined by the Criminal Code, contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Fail to comply with conditions of that release order to wit: Reside with surety at 741 Wellington Street East – Unit A, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Did have in his possession a prohibited weapon while he was prohibited from doing so by reason of an order made pursuant to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Turek was held for bail on January 26, 2022 in the Ontario Court of Justice Huntsville.

MacLeod was been charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purposes of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Did have in her possession a prohibited weapon, to wit: Knife, contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code.

She was released from custody to appear on March 1, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice Muskoka.
