GRAVENHURST REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE OPEN TO PUBLIC OUTDOORS

GRAVENHURST — Remembrance Day services here will be muted, but still public tomorrow.

The Royal Canadian Legion will commemorate its war dead with another scaled-down service outdoors.

And all are welcome — but urged to take appropriate COVID measures including distancing and wearing masks.

With the weather to be seasonal and without often rain or snow Muskoka Pioneer Army Cadets will stand sentry duty from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. ceremony.

And most wreaths will be pre-laid, with the exception of a few of the larger legion and government ones.

Muskoka Power Army Cadets Corporal Logan Steele and his brother Brennen Steele were out giving away poppies Saturday in Gravenhurst.
Former Gravenhurst fire chief Larry Brassard and Alex were at Shoppers in Gravenhurst Saturday as volunteers with the Legion poppy campaign.
