BRACEBRIDGE — What’s a six-letter word for Wendy Betts?

Winner.

The Bracebridge woman parlayed a $3 lottery investment in to a $50,000 prize.

“I was at home with my husband when I realized I uncovered six words,” in an Instant Crossword puzzle.

“I started shaking and became light-headed,” she said while picking up the game’s top prize Nov. 1 at the OLG prize centre office in Toronto

She said it comes at a perfect time for the 63-year-old mother of two.

“It takes some pressure off.

“I’m going to pay some bills and keep a little for fun.”

Her ticket was purchased at Northern Necessities on Hwy. 118 in Bracebridge.
