4 DAYS OF ADVANCE POLLS BEGIN CANADA’S POST-PANDEMIC RECOVERY, FUTURE

PARRY SOUND-MUSKOKA — Voting got underway today — and “no,” you don’t need a vaccine passport to cast your ballot for the advance polls on this weekend.

But you should have at least one — if not two — by now.

However, expect line-ups as normal COVID health and safety protocols are in effect including definitely masks.

Four days of voting commenced Friday and continue Saturday, Sunday and Monday — until a week ahead of the federal election.

Polls are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Limits on the number of people in buildings and at polling stations exist at some sites.

But wait times were mostly no more than 10 or 15 minutes this morning.

But that could change as many are expected to vote early to avoid large gatherings during Election Day voting on Sept. 20.

You should have received your election card in the mail by now — and a separate information brochure outlining the election process (see it below photos).

Take it and appropriate photo ID to receive a ballot.

If you haven’t received your voting card there are alternative ways to vote and poll clerks will show you how.

Voting is important and encouraged — and will lead the post-pandemic recovery in to a new, exciting, meaningful and impactful Canada for present and future generations.
