BURK’S FALLS RESIDENTS CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION SUNDAY

HUNTSVILLE — Two Burk’s Falls residents face drug charges after their vehicle was stopped north of town here Sunday afternoon after police said it was “being driven in a concerning manner.”

Provincial police arrested and charged driver Peter Everett, 40, and passenger Randi Boland, 31.

They say that on Aug. 8 at 3:55 p.m., an officer observed their car being driven in a concerning manner on Muskoka Road 3 North, Huntsville.

After stopping the vehicle the officer is said to have observed the Everett showing signs of impairment and open alcohol in plain view in the car.

He was arrested and the subsequent investigation resulted in police locating the following: A total of 1.07 g of suspected Cocaine, .022 g of suspected Crack Cocaine 3.16 g of suspected Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms), 2.11 g of cannabis and a machete, which were all seized by police.

As a result, Everett faces these six charges:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Possession of a schedule II substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Possession  of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired contrary to section 320.18 (1)(a) the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available contrary to section 12(1) of the Cannabis Control Act.
  • Drive motor vehicle with open liquor contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act.

Boland was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled

Drugs and Substance Act

Everett and Boland were released from custody and are to appear Sept. 15, 2021, in the Ontario Court of Justice Huntsville.

Police pulled over a car north of Huntsville Sunday they said was being driven in a concerning manner and arrested the two occupants, charging them with drug possession.
