MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER ‘CONFRTONATION’ WITH FLEEING TRANSPORT DRIVER

GRAVENHURST — A 47-year-old Gravenhurst man was taken to hospital in Toronto last night with life-threatening injuries after falling from a transport truck in what police call a confrontation with the driver who fled the scene.

Provincial police say they responded to the incident on Bethune Drive near Violet Street in Gravenhurst, Sunday, May 30, at 8:10 p.m.

They say it involved a transport and a pedestrian.

Police say the pedestrian mounted the transport truck and a confrontation ensued that resulted in the man falling as the truck was put into motion.

The truck operator then drove away and is still outstanding.

The transport is described as a blue Freightliner conventional with the Ontario licence plate of BK46352.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital and later transferred to a Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries.
