KILWORTHY — Friends and family of Ben Readman, of Orillia, are mourning his death on Kawagama Lake, east of Dorset, yesterday.

The long-time construction manager with CedarCoast Timber Homes died in a boating accident say police.

His body was recovered this afternoon.

A fellow worker with him, Dalton Hill, was able to make it to shore, police said in a release later today.

Provincial police from the Haliburton Highlands detachment said Friday they were dispatched to a marine incident involving a single vessel on Thursday, where two male occupants ended up in the water.

OPP resources from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment, Aviation Services, Snowmobile ATV and Vessel Enforcement (SAVE) Unit and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) conducted a search for Readman yesterday and continued today.

Police said late this afternoon that they recovered the body of the missing bargeman shortly after 1:30 p.m. There investigation continues.
