MUSKOKA LAKES MAN CHARGED IN FATAL JULY WATERCRAFT ACCIDENT

MUSKOKA LAKES A fatal watercraft accident this summer has led to serious charges yesterday against a Muskoka Lakes Township man.

Provincial police said Wednesday Dec. 9 that Charles McNair, 58, was charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Death CC 320.13(3).

The OPP say that after a five-month investigation involving the Provincial Traffic Operations unit, they have charged one of two people involved in the accident.

They say that on Sunday July 5, just before noon, the OPP were called to a collision on Lake Muskoka involving a personal water craft and a human-powered vessel, which resulted in the death of the operator of one of the vessels, 58-year-old Michael Cohen, of Toronto.

McNair is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Feb. 2, 2021.
