SUSPECT CAUGHT AFTER ‘VIOLENT THREAT’ LOCKS DOWN SCHOOLS
BRACEBRIDGE — Schools here were put in a “hold and secure” yesterday afternoon after a report that a youth had “made concerning comments about potentially committing an act of violence at a local high school.”
Police say they received information Wednesday Nov. 11 at 1:20 p.m.
And that the affected schools were quickly placed into a “hold and secure,” which is an action taken by school administration to ensure that the school environment is safe by keeping all students inside and prohibiting the entry of anyone that is not a part of the school community.
They say very short time later police located the suspect at a Bracebridge high school and took him into custody.
And that there is currently no threat to public safety and the investigation is ongoing.
