RAMARA CONTRACTOR CHARGED WITH FRAUD IN ORILLIA

ORILLIA A local contractor who took deposits then didn’t start work has been charged with fraud.

Provincial police from the Orillia Crime Unit have arrested and charged the man with fraud in two separate investigations in Orillia.

They say that on Aug. 28 and Sept. 28 the OPP undertook investigations in relation to alleged frauds in which substantial amounts of money were paid to the contractor, who they say did not start the agreed-upon construction work.

As a result of the lengthy investigations, Scott Eisemann, 51, of Ramara Township, was arrested in Orillia today, Nov., 4 and charged with:

  • Two counts of Fraud Over $5000, contrary to Section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Eisemann was released on a Form 10 Undertaking to appear Dec. 15, 2020, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.

Scott Eisemann, 51, is accused of taking money upfront for work and not starting jobs.
