2 Barrie drug raids nab 2 bikers

BARRIE — Three Barrie residents have been charged in a pair of drug raids in the city in an investigation involving the OPP’s Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU).

Police in Barrie helped in a pair of drug raids in which three city residents were charged.

Provincial police said Wednesday afternoon that on March 27, 2018, members of the BEU, the OPP Tactical Unit and Barrie Police Service Tactical Unit executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at residences on Pickett Crescent and on Wessenger Crescent. 

They say that three people face charges under the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) following an investigation involving members of the OPP BEU.

Investigative support was provided by OPP Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Barrie Police Service, OPP Nottawasaga Detachment, OPP Canine Unit and OPP Technical Support Services (TSS). 

Charged are Justin Pierson, 32, of Barrie, a member of the Iron Dragons Motorcycle club. He faces charges of:

Possession of a Firearm at a Unauthorized location (Section 93(a) CC);

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm knowing it is Unauthorized (Section 92(1)CC);

Careless storage of a Firearm (Section 86(1) CC);

Unauthorized possession of a Firearm (Section 91(1) CC);

Possession of Proceeds of Crime (Section 354(1)(a) CC); and with

Possession for the Purpose- Cocaine (Section 5(2) CDSA). 

Lucy Gorringe, 25, is charged with:

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (Section 91(1) CC);

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm knowing it is Unauthorized (Section 92(1) CC);

Careless storage of a Firearm (Section 86(1) CC);

Possession of Proceeds of Crime (Section 354(1)(a) CC); and with

Possession for the Purpose- Cocaine (Section 5(2) CDSA). 

Kristopher Davis, 27, a member of the Iron Dragons Motorcycle club, is charged with:

Possession of a firearm at a unauthorized location (Section 93(a) CC);

Careless Storage of a Firearm (Section 86(1) CC);

Storage contrary to regulation (Section 86(2) CC);

Possession of a Prohibited Firearm (Section 95(b) CC);

Lost Firearm not Reported (Section 105(1)(a) CC)

Possession of a Prohibited Device (Section 92(2) CC); and with

Possession of Marijuana (Section 4(1) CDSA).

Some of the items seized include cash, various firearms, ammunition, bullet proof vest, cocaine, marihuana and drug paraphernalia.

All three accused are being held in custody pending a bail hearing. The investigation remains ongoing.
