COUPLE IN RESTRICTED AREA FACE DRUG CHARGES
BRACEBRIDGE — A man and woman spotted in a vehicle in a restricted area Saturday face drug and probation charges.
Provincial police say officers were patrolling area roads April 18 at noon when they noticed a vehicle leaving an area closed to public.
Officers conducted a traffic stop to investigate the circumstances and subsequently arrested and charged the driver, 29-year-old Roslynd Brown, with:
- Operation while Impaired by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a);
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Opioid) CDSA 4(1);
- And Possession of a Schedule III Substance CDSA 4(1).
The passenger in the vehicle, 40-year-old David Roche, of Bracebridge, was also charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Opioid) CDSA 4(1);
- Possession of a Schedule III Substance CDSA 4(1);
- And Failing to Comply with Probation CC 733.1(1).
Brown and Roche are both to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 30, 2020 to answer to their charges.
Police say in all cases where a driver is charged with Impaired Driving, their driver’s license is suspended for 90 days and their vehicle is impounded.
