BRACEBRIDGE — You gotta hand it to these folks. What a great idea.

Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca (Hands) is hosting free Sensory Sensitive Halloween Celebrations for children and youth with Autism, and their families.

Sensory Sensitive events provide children with Autism the opportunity to practice trick-or-treating and other activities associated with Halloween in a safe and inclusive environment.

“Halloween can be a fun time for children and their families, but it can also come with some challenging moments”, says Dr. Karen Grattan-Miscio, senior manager of autism services at Hands.

“Ensuring an enjoyable Halloween with your child may require some advanced planning and practicing. Our team of Autism experts will be available during the events to provide support for you and your child as they learn the unique traditions of Halloween”.

Hands is hosting a Muskoka event Saturday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hands location at 23 Ball’s Dr., in Bracebridge.

Walk-ins are welcome; however pre-registration is appreciated to assist with planning efforts.
