MUSKOKA STUDENTS DEMAND ACTION ON CLIMATE CRISIS
MUSKOKA — It’s their future — and they want a say.
And loud, too.
Hundred of elementary and high school students in Bracebridge and Huntsville walked away from school Friday for their future.
They held their own demonstration in small towns away from the massive crowds urban protests in Toronto and Montreal.
Social media was full of photos by protesters and proud parents.
The Muskoka kids sat down on the steps of Huntsville’s town hall waved signs in front of MPP Norm Miller’s constituency office in Bracebridge.
Downtown, many drivers honked their support for the student climate strikers.
Spokespersons for local candidates Scott Aitchison, Gord Miller and Trisha Cowie all said they would also be in Huntsville. The NDP’s Tom Young was in Ottawa, where he was to attend a march there.
