PORT CARLING — A Muskoka-based design talent is resonating on the world home decorating stage.

Lori Morris, an already internationally award-winning interior designer and founder of Lori Morris Design, has been selected as one of 23 featured designers at the prestigious 2026 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach.

Their goal? To reimagine the Intracoastal House and Palm Cottage.

House Beautiful says: “The palm leaf chandeliers in Lori Morris’s lounge take your breath away. This space is one of ultimate Palm Beach luxury with a bit of edge. A glamorous palette of cream, soft gold, and blush feels luminous and warm, like a soft sunrise, with natural and artificial light dancing off the chandeliers.”

While recognized globally for her luxury interiors, she maintains a dedicated presence in Muskoka with her showroom in Port Carling, created specifically to serve the Muskoka region and its distinctive lifestyle, says a release today.

The event showcases two houses for the first time: a waterfront bungalow at 3410 North Flagler Dr.; and a charming cottage located just across the street.

The show is open to visitors through March 24.

She says her ‘Gilded Palm’ room draws inspiration from the warmth and movement of coastal light, with layers champagne golds, creams, blushes, greens, and warm neutrals, anchored by lush, oversized furnishings in the signature LMD style. An antique mirror reflects the water outside, creating “a constant sense of energy and light.”

Morris’s participation in this internationally celebrated design event highlights the level of creative excellence connected to Muskoka on one of the most prestigious design stages in North America.

This year’s 2026 Kips Bay Show House, has already garnered international press coverage including Architectural Digest Pro, House Beautiful, Veranda, AOL, MSN, Yahoo and The Business of Home.

For Muskoka clients familiar with Morris’s distinctive aesthetic, her participation underscores the design expertise connected to the region.

Her Port Carling showroom was established specifically to serve the Muskoka community, offering custom furnishings, curated accessories, and full scale interior design services tailored to cottage and waterfront living.

At this year’s Palm Beach show house, Morris designed the waterfront lounge within the Intracoastal House at 3410 North Flagler Drive.

Her room, titled The Gilded Palm, draws inspiration from the warmth and movement of coastal light.

Its layers champagne golds, creams, blushes, greens, and warm neutrals, anchored by lush, oversized furnishings in the signature LMD style. A dramatic antique mirror installed along the back wall reflects the water outside, creating what Morris describes as “a constant sense of energy and light.”

Morris says she has always been inspired by her love of nature and summers spent on Lake Joe.

Which is reflected in her Port Carling showroom, which in a Muskoka Lake Chamber of Commerce member profile she describes as a gorgeous, fully appointed space provides a unique opportunity to experience a new vernacular in timeless luxury with a sense of ease and comfort, perfect for lakeside living.

“Each room resonates with an organically inspired melding of Muskoka’s distinctive beauty and signature Lori Morris ‘no rules’ design approach, assigning a new dimension to cottage living that fits perfectly with the Muskoka landscape.”

Morris was one of 23 designers invited to reimagine the Intracoastal House and Palm Cottage at Kips Bay in Palm Beach.
