BRACEBRIDGE — The District of Muskoka began work this week on the town’s closed Silver Bridge.

Contractor Clearwater Structures Inc. is on site installing a temporary support structure, which will be used during this year’s construction before it is scheduled to reopen by end of 2026, the District of Muskoka engineering and public works commissioner James Steele said today in an update.

The work follows a safety closure in January 2025 and a structural review and rehabilitation plan completed.

Road detours

Traffic routes remain in place in and around its downtown Manitoba main street.

See Municipal 511 for further traffic updates and detour information the coming year.

As well the District says Google Maps and the Waze traffic app are up to date with road changes.
