GRAVENHURST — Two men have been charged in separate theft investigations here recently with one in bail court this morning and the other bail court tomorrow.

Today police said they’ve charged a Gravenhurst man after a theft at Muskoka Bay Clothing last Thursday, Feb. 12, in Gravenhurst.

At 1:20 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress on Muskoka Road South.

After being confronted by store staff, the male suspect took off on foot with a variety of items.

Members of the public kept track of the suspect from a safe distance and police arrived within minutes.

He was followed more than a block away where social media video appeared to show him threatening two people who follow him to Sharpe Street next to the Opera House just off the main street.

He turned around and fled with what look like clothing items in his arms.

When police arrived the suspect began experiencing what they called a “medical emergency” and he was transported to hospital in police custody, where he was treated.

Police later told MuskokaTODAY.com that he was OK.

As a result, police charged 33-year-old Brandon Condrey with:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Condrey was held in custody after a bail hearing to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
