LEAFS ALUMNI WIN 10-4, FILLING BRACEBRIDGE RINK TONIGHT IN HUGELY SUCCESSFUL CHARITY FUNDRAISER FOR SOUTH MUSKOKA COMMUNITY LIVING
Mark Clairmont | MuskokaTODAY.comBRACEBRIDGE — Big or small Kris King can still score on them all.
Not only did the former Leafs great put one by Greg Porter in the Leafs Alumni game tonight, but he also let one slip in off his stick on a little Timmies player.
His next goal would have given the NHL veep and Muskoka-bred hockey player a natural hat-trick.
As it was he was the second star behind Wendel Clark — who was behind the bench in tonight’s hugely successful South Muskoka Community Living fundraiser.

Certain to become an annual winter event with 900 sold-out seats and 100 standing. It was the largest crowd to see hockey in the new two-year-old Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.
Add in the online auction items in the lobby, event sponsorships and the charity game is destined to bring everyone back next year.
And based on the decibel level of the all ages audience you’d think most of them were around in the ’80s,’90s and early 2000s watching King, Clark, Rick Vaive, Al Iafrate, Gary Leeman, Todd Gill, Dan Daoust, Brad May and all the other players who passed through Toronto or had some glory years there.
“Excellent,” said fan Greg Smith, who said he watched them growing up while only admitting to being “at least 50.”
“They’ve still got it. It was great to watch.”
Heather Young, who had a Leafs jersey on, had to admit she only knew a few.
“But I like Clark.”
Irene Jensen sported her Mitch Marner #16 Leafs jersey, saying she’s a Vegas fan now. And would have worn his new black and gold #93, but was afraid to in the all-Leafs crowd.

Even the Leafs opponents in the white CTC jerseys — who paid $300 to suit up against them had to admit to enjoying the fundraiser — said a sweaty Chris “Bondo” Bonden during and after the game.
Their goalie for the first of the two periods was also smiling following the game and joint one-in-a-lifetime teams photo-op.
A final five minutes of the first period saw Tim Bits tie the game at 4-4 in a spirited rush up and back on the ice in which they scored on Leafs goalie Adam Munro.
During the flooding the Port Carling Figure Skating Club’s synchro team showed the men how to skate.
Munro also faced some stiff shots from his opponents — including a few good goals during the game and in a shoot-out contest to start the second period.
But the Leafs didn’t deny their fans, and everyone left happy as they went on to score instead of passing in the second half for a 10-4 visiting team win.
The crowd may have been huge, but they weren’t homers.
Tonight they were cheering for the Leafs often being heard screaming “Go Leafs go!”
Maybe inspired by having the parent club in the rink the past two Octobers for training camps.
Bracebridge is definitely Leafs land now for sure.
And why wouldn’t it be as the game was played under the banner guise of former Leafs 1932 Stanley Cup great and Bracebridge boy Ace Bailey.
