GRAVENHURST — Too bad about Bo Bichette.

He won’t be in the Jays ALCS lineup tonight at 8:08 p.m.

Not that they need him.

But if you were looking for a top dog in Muskoka — Friday at the Hale Market was memorable opportunity.

Forever Muskoka manager Jess Dodsworth had her beautiful, obedient dog Bo there for the ‘In Autumn’ festival.

And he was a hit wearing his white Forever Muskoka hat at their booth, where Port Carling store staff member Maddy Burgess was selling their popular gear, which the Maple Leafs wore during their recent visit.

“Yeah,” said Dodsworth. “Last year we made them hats and this year we added hoodies, too.”

On a great fall afternoon — before Saturday’s downfall — a dinner, fashion show and ‘Best Fall Pie in Muskoka’ contest took place at the new Bethune Drive event centre.

Christie Buckley, of the Savvy Coummunity in Gravenhurst, was the winner with her apple pie.

And Hale owner Eric Abugov says he plans to replace the “old Simpson Barn” this fall and use the parts for future projects, including a new all-season event centre on the footprint that will allow for other shows.

Apple pie contest winner Christie Buckley, left, is congratulated by Hale Muskoka’s Eric Abugov and his daughter Maddy Slatt.
Chef Jordan Wagman presents his lamb dish hot of the out door grill, as he heads inside the old Simpson Barn during the first sitting of In Muskoka’s Culinary Experience. Other chefs were Charmaine Broughton and Bradley Yip.
Model Ashleigh takes a break between culinary shows for some fresh air with her cute pooch.
Gladius Forge blade smith Joe Chicoine, of Chesley, tests his carving knife on this cutting board made by Andrew Barrie, of King’s Smart Wood Shop, in Barrie.
