BRACEBRIGE — It was a shootout and the season hasn’t officially begun for the U13  ‘D’ Bears team.

The South Muskoka squad was putting the pucks squarely inside the Chevrolet Cruze windows Saturday morning.

And just like in the games they’re hoping for it wasn’t glass they hit but all net.

Go Bears go! The U13 Bears ‘D’ team took aim at another winning season by firing pucks at, in and over GM Cruze Saturday with the kind of accuracy they’ll need in the coming weeks and months. PHOTOS Mark Clairmont MuskokaTODAY.com

Swish?

Not quite. But good practice.

This was street hockey at its best in the parking lot off Monica Lane for a team bonding and fundraiser.

And of course what outdoor sports event for pre-teens without a BBQ and sports drinks.

Cool, eh! A little, but the breezes were the pucks sailing in, over and under the car.

A good time and a good cause. And they raised $1,245 for the rep team’s expenses.

Now if they can just translate the day into wins, it will pay off.

If not the Bruise the Cruze will be back next year.

Only with a lot more dints from Saturday.

A team tryout toddler takes aim at the car in the Edges parking lot.
Players, friends and family paid for several shots in a bid to score funds for the team.
This young ‘D’ man gave the fundraiser the thumbs up.
