NOVICE DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED AFTER HITTING FENCE AT SPORTS COMPLEX THEN FLEEING

HUNTSVILLEA novice driver faces multiple impaired driving charges after an accident here Sunday afternoon.

Officers charged him with impaired operation following a report of a fail to remain motor vehicle collision in Huntsville.

On August 10, at 3:22 p.m., police responded to reports of a motor vehicle that struck a fence at McCulley-Robertson Sports Complex on Williams Street.

Officers located the vehicle a short distance away and after an investigation determined the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, Sean McNaughton, 30, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to remain
  • Have care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Have care or control of motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

In addition to the charges he received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

McNaughton was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 16th, 2025.

Police have charged a first-time Huntsville driver with impaired operations after he was also found with cannabis access and open alcohol in his vehicle while driving.
